About Mission Dolores Academy
Located on the site of the former Mission Dolores Elementary School and created through a merger between San Francisco’s Mission Dolores School and its Megan Furth Academy, Mission Dolores Academy serves more than 200 students in grades K-8. Mission Dolores Academy aims to graduate students who are confident, academically prepared to succeed in the San Francisco Bay Area’s best high schools and who believe and practice the school’s values every day of their lives.
Turning to blended learning – and Education Elements
Seton Education Partners asked Education Elements to help as it redesigned Mission Dolores Academy (MDA) as the pilot site for Seton’s Phaedrus Initiative, which will demonstrate how financially struggling Catholic schools can deliver a high-quality education at a reasonable price using technology. Education Elements will be working across MDA’s K-8 grades to help students rotate between live and online instruction in each subject, with content from Compass Learning, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Science Fusion, Achieve 3000, and Powerspeak for Spanish. Through a partnership with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Education Elements will help align MDA’s science textbooks and online content for students with instructional resources for teachers.
This video shares the unique history of Mission Dolores Academy and discusses the school’s experiences with blended learning.
